New film

ICE HORNET

Other project
Breitling Jet Team

ICE HORNET is the new aviation film by Lionel Charlet. It is a 62-minute atmospheric documentary without commentary created by this independent film producer based in Switzerland.

After FUSION, VOLS BLANC, TIMELESS and AIR 04, this new film is devoted to the world of the third dimension. It has as its principal subject the F/A-18 of the Swiss Air Force. The film is the fruit of Lionel Charlet’s passion for military aircraft and was undertaken in demanding situations from January to July 2006.

Realized in collaboration with the Swiss Confederation, the DDPS and with the support of Breitling SA and SONY, this film is being distributed as a DVD in France, Switzerland and then the rest of the world as of 29 September 2006.

Lionel Charlet immersed himself for six months in the universe of the F/A-18 and the Air Force. From concept to the actually filming from within the cockpit to the post-production, Charlet’s personal investment remained faithful to its working method.

Charlet’s artistic and poetic approach to filming distinguishes his films from others within the aviation genre. In this DVD, you will find several special sequences as:

Flights in mountains - night flights - Nightway 06/Norway - Saka 06/Sardinia - Mirage 2000/Dogfight and in-flight refuelling - flight in F-5F - trailer of the film VOLS BLANC - picture show.

  • Purchase of the DVD in shops in Switzerland and France is now possible. It is also possible to order it on line on SwissDVDShop

Lionel Charlet makes a new, demanding aviation film shot from January to May 2006.

A special atmospheric film without commentary, this film will immerse the viewer and let them discover the almost surrealist world of the flight on an F/A-18, over Switzerland and abroad.

In this new film, Lionel Charlet once again applies a method of total immersion away from the ground and seeks to emphasize the atmosphere of a separate world.

The film shows several varied missions and includes great moments of a mid-flight refuelling sequence especially special as they were shot in the presence of the French Mirage 2000, a plane that helps show the F/A-18 origins.

Charlet improves on his experiments of capturing jets’ in-flight and at the time of filming uses High Definition (HD) cameras.

This new film will be greeted by an ever-growing public and will be released as a DVD in September 2006.

Lionel Charlet seeks sponsors and partners for his upcoming productions so if you have an idea or are interested, please contact him directly.
