Military aviation is my great passion.
As a child growing up in Neuchatel in Switzerland, I spent hours gazing through binoculars at aerial combat exercises over the Jura mountains and the Alps.
Powerful images have remained with me since such as the foreboding feeling of watching a Mirage jet threading its way between austere peaks and passing overhead at tremendous speeds.
 My ambition is to convey the feelings of such flights, the radically different experiences, the poetic reality when one is carried to the limits of one’s possibilities and yet then passes into another dimension. My greatest challenges are trying to reproduce the forces and exhilaration of such flights such as how with one loop in a jet, the vertical kilometres speed by in mere seconds.
This is my challenge. This is my passion.
One of the major risks of portraying flight is indulging in an excess of fantasy or caricature.
I try to focus on conveying the constraints that flight imposes and convey its grandeur and strength.
The men who are lucky enough to fly carry a serious responsibility - confronted as they are every day to maximum risk and spectacular sceneries - alone in their cockpits they stay focussed on their mission.
 There is seriousness in this beauty if only because war exists. But also because the beauty and transcendence of nature that pilots discover marks them deeply. They don't indulge in experimentation or ‘fun’ flying, where one seeks, above all, intense sensations. It is simply part of their job.
The beauty of the three dimensional universe reveals the beauty of the earth and the landscapes, an immense glacier just below the jet, flying head down, perspective is carried away.
Thanks to the Swiss Air Force, I've had the occasion to log many hours in FA/18, F-5, Hawk and Mirage. I’ve logged many long hard hours gathering the best pictures possible. Each flight is a new challenge complete with its own inherent struggles and victories.
I have many new ideas and projects and recently have started to work more internationally within the aeronautical field. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss some of these.

AIR 04 Payerne was shot during one of the most exciting airshows ever presented to the public - to celebrate the anniversary of the Swiss Air Force and the ‘Patrouille Suisse’. 275'000 spectators attended this unique event that took place in September 2004 in Payerne, Switzerland.
